Corinthians have appointed Gabriel Maciel Corrêa as international market analyst to expand the club’s presence abroad. The role is new, created within the department led by football executive Marcelo Paz, who confirmed the hire after Thursday’s open training.

According to Meu Timao, Corrêa will travel to open markets, build networks, promote technical knowledge exchange and strengthen the club’s image overseas. He will be based at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava with the first team plus the Under-17 and Under-20 groups, alongside international trips.

The focus will be on potential departures rather than arrivals, offering players to the international market to increase sales, viewed as vital with debt near R$ three billion. He will also pursue entries for youth tournaments abroad to raise academy visibility.

Corrêa holds a Communication degree from PUC-SP, an MBA in Football Industry from the University of Liverpool and a postgraduate qualification in sports marketing from FGV. His career also includes spells with Nike and New Balance.

Internationally, he has worked predominantly as a scout, assessing Latin American talent for Chelsea, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest. His most recent job was head of recruitment at Neom FC in Saudi Arabia, a club newly promoted to the top flight.

In recent weeks Corinthians reshaped their football department, with coach Dorival Júnior and manager Renan Bloise departing. Fernando Diniz arrived as head coach and Júlio César became football manager, the former goalkeeper having represented the club from 2005 to 2013.
