Corinthians boss: End of fans’ ban a real boost for team

On the afternoon of this Sunday, the 2nd, Corinthians returned to the field for the Brazilian Championship. In a match held at Neo Química Arena and valid for the 31st round of the national competition, Timão hosted Grêmio, aiming to maintain their recent good form. And they succeeded, winning in Itaquera by 2-0, in front of 42,000 fans – the goals were scored by Gustavo Henrique and Memphis.

After the match, coach Dorival Júnior held a press conference in Itaquera, where he celebrated the end of the punishment for the organized black-and-white fans, who were able to return with instruments, uniforms, and banners after signing a Conduct Adjustment Term in recent days, along with the authorities. The Corinthians coach detailed the importance of the fans for the team:

“Regardless of instruments, the Corinthians fans are a differentiator for the team. Everyone knows that. They don't boo us, they encourage us for 90 minutes. Much of our recovery is due to this support, we have the fans' recognition in the most difficult moments of our team in the championship.”

Dorival continued, reinforcing the role of the fans' support in the recovery of Alvinegro in the Brasileirão, after the team went through delicate moments. “The situation was delicate. Thank God, with work and dedication, everyone's commitment and acceptance from those outside, I hope we continue this momentum and seek important points for our sequence in the upcoming games”, he concluded.
