Corinthians confirm youth midfielder joins São Paulo countryside club

In the last few hours, Corinthians finalized the departure of midfielder Tiaguinho, 18 years old, who was part of the Timãozinho U-20 team but had been getting few opportunities and was training separately, to Novorizontino, a team from the countryside of São Paulo. His contract termination with the Alvinegro was published in the CBF's Daily Information Bulletin (BID) on the afternoon of last Wednesday (25).

According to information published by Rádio TMC, Corinthians retained 20% of the player's economic rights, aiming for a possible negotiation with another team in the future. On his Instagram account, the midfielder said goodbye to the club from Parque São Jorge, where he went through all the youth categories – check out an excerpt in the middle of the article and at the end, the full post.

“Here, I learned that football goes far beyond the field; it’s about character, resilience, and respect. I experienced unforgettable victories and overcame challenges that shaped me. I owe much of who I am to my teammates, staff, and of course, to the fans who were always there. I leave with a peaceful heart and immense gratitude for everything we built. Tiaguinho began his journey at Alvinegro playing in the futsal youth categories and then made the transition to the field. There, besides playing as a midfielder, he also played as a defensive midfielder. In the Corinthians youth categories, he played 24 matches for the U-17 and six for the U-20. Additionally, he was a starter in the now-defunct U-18/U-20 B category, where he was part of the team that won the 2025 Paulista Cup for the category.

It’s worth noting that the Corinthians youth categories, especially the U-20, have been undergoing major restructuring. So far, four players have been announced as reinforcements for the category: defenders Zé Antônio (Santa Cruz), Yago Melo (Flamengo), Levy Dias (Flamengo), and midfielder Christian Oliveira (Flamengo). Left-back João Vitor, who was at Athletico-PR, has a deal in progress with Timãozinho, according to TMC.

In recent days, Corinthians has also registered, in the CBF's Daily Information Bulletin (BID), the departures of forwards João Poncidôncio and Kauã Marim, who had been training separately in the U-20 and were not in the coaching staff’s plans.
