Corinthians could collect R$ 96 million if they win the 2026 Copa do Brasil, with clubs starting from the opening round able to reach about R$ 100 million. The Brazilian Football Confederation announced the revamped prize pot alongside format changes for the competition.
Now in its 38th edition, the tournament expands from 92 to 126 clubs and from 122 to 155 matches, with the format stretching from seven to nine phases. State federation berths rise from 80 to 102, while Série A sides have fewer designated dates, down from three to one, and a longer rest window.
All Série A teams will enter in the fifth phase, with lower-ranked clubs in the CBF rankings starting in the first, and Série B sides joining in the following round. For the first time, the final will be a single match, mirroring other international competitions and enhancing its sporting, tourism and commercial pull.
From the fifth phase the payouts are R$ 2 million, then R$ 3 million in the last 16, R$ 4 million in the quarter-finals and R$ 9 million in the semi-finals. The final awards R$ 34 million to the runners-up and R$ 78 million to the champions.
The runners-up now also secure a Copa Libertadores berth in the preliminary stage, while the winners go straight into the group phase, as usual. In 2025, Corinthians’ campaign delivered R$ 97,791,750, the highest prize haul in the competition’s history.
