A group of Corinthians councillors and members has filed for the precautionary suspension of vice-president Armando Mendonça amid a probe into alleged diversion of Nike kit. He was charged on Wednesday with misappropriation, attempted misappropriation, aggravated theft and coercion.
According to Meu Timao, the petition cites concerns raised by prosecutor Cassio Roberto Conserino and seeks an ethical disciplinary case, arguing complaints suggest conduct incompatible with the office.
Signed by 15, it leans on the Justice Commission, which notes mismanagement, harm to assets, interference in the inquiry and intimidation of auditors and Nike representatives.
Prosecutors say he appropriated 131 Nike items in 2025 and tried to remove 19 NFL shirts after the 1-1 draw with Palmeiras on 31 August.
He is also accused of taking eight commemorative shirts from the Los Angeles Chargers v Kansas City Chiefs event without a formal request, allegedly using access to club storerooms.
The probe notes alleged staff coercion, including a near 40-minute call recorded by technology director Marcelo Munhoes.
The motion recalls an internal case over offensive remarks to supporters in December and his 2025 support for removing then president Augusto Melo. It seeks suspension until final rulings, citing law 14.597/2023 and the club statute, and will be reviewed by acting Deliberative Council president Leonardo Pantaleão.
The same group has pursued impeachment of president Osmar Stabile over alleged security contracting irregularities, and an April motion has advanced, citing a PGFN debt deal of R$1.2 billion using Parque São Jorge as collateral valued at R$602.2 million.
