Corinthians count on history to beat Red Bull Bragantino, stay in form

On the evening of this Wednesday (5th), at 7:00 PM (Brasília time), Corinthians takes the field to face Red Bull Bragantino at the Cícero de Souza Marques Stadium, in Bragança Paulista, for the 32nd round of the Brazilian Championship. Timão comes into the match looking to extend their streak of three consecutive victories in the Brasileirão and move closer to the top of the table.

Historically, Corinthians and Red Bull Bragantino have faced each other 67 times, with Timão winning 29 matches, drawing 21, and losing 17, in addition to scoring 96 goals and conceding 63. However, if we consider only the period after the former Bragantino was acquired by the Austrian brand, the Alvinegro now has a disadvantage in the record, with six wins and eight losses in 18 games.

One of these eight defeats happened precisely in the last clash between the clubs, which took place on July 13 of this year, at the Neo Química Arena, for the 13th round of the Brazilian Championship. On that occasion, Corinthians was defeated 2-1 by Red Bull Bragantino, with the Alvinegro goal scored by Cacá.

Currently, Corinthians occupies the tenth position in the standings, with 42 points from 31 games, while Red Bull Bragantino is going through a tough moment, in 14th place with 36 points, after four consecutive defeats. If they win again, the People’s Team will have the chance to finish the round as high as eighth place, depending on other results in the round.
