Corinthians are exploring a move for Arthur as the international window opens on Monday 20 July, with Marcelo Paz saying Fernando Diniz has flagged the midfielder and any deal hinges on finances and Fifa bans.
"One of the few names he mentioned was Arthur, who he feels would add a lot," said Marcelo Paz, who was speaking to Jogo Aberto.
"It is not because we lack midfielders. Arthur is a name we like, and Diniz likes, and it would be an opportunity if both sides align."
"We have some salary delays to settle. We have a transfer ban to clear before signings. We are working to update salaries and clear the ban to move in the market."
"His contract runs until 31 July. Corinthians have made a formal proposal covering salary and potential marketing revenues. If there is an agreement he returns to training, if not, he does not."
"The debt is part of the proposal. It has to be settled. I do not want to talk numbers."
Arthur is contracted to Juventus until June 2027, so another loan is viewed as the likeliest route. Corinthians have also sounded out a return for Wesley from Al-Nassr, but must first resolve two Fifa bans and salary arrears. They are still in the Libertadores and Copa do Brasil and sit 10th in the Brasileiro.
