Corinthians goalkeeper back in training after head knock in Supercopa final

After being sidelined for almost ten days following the concussion protocol of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Corinthians goalkeeper Lelê returned to training with the Brabas squad this Tuesday (17) for the first time since the blow to the head she suffered in the final of the Women's Supercup last Saturday (7), against Palmeiras, at Arena Barueri.

In the play in question, Palmeiras launched a counterattack through the middle at the 16th minute of the first half, and midfielder Bia Zanteratto, in a face-to-face challenge with Lelê, unintentionally struck the Brabas' goalkeeper in the head with her knee. As a result, the number 12 needed medical attention and was later replaced by Nicole.

Lelê was also absent in the first round of the Brazilian Championship last Friday (13), against Atlético-MG, at Arena MRV, where the Brabas won 1-0, with a goal by attacking midfielder Letícia Monteiro in the first half. At the moment of the blow to her head, Lelê left the pitch without needing an ambulance, accompanied by club staff.

The goalkeeper is one of the symbols of Corinthians' success in women's football. Wearing the Corinthians shirt, she has played 179 matches (176 as a starter), with 133 wins, 29 draws, and 16 losses – an 80.15% success rate. In addition, she has won 15 titles, including the Brazilian Championship, Conmebol Libertadores, Paulista Championship, Supercup, Copa Paulista, and Copa do Brasil.

Lelê, however, remains a doubt for Corinthians' next match. Next Friday (20), at 9:30 PM (Brasília time), the Brabas will host Fluminense at Neo Química Arena, for the second round of the first stage of the Women's Brazilian Championship.
