Corinthians midfielder eyes RB Bragantino clash, praises their style

On the evening of this Wednesday (5th), at 7 PM (Brasília time), Corinthians will face Red Bull Bragantino at the Cícero de Souza Marques Stadium, in a match valid for the 32nd round of the Brazilian Championship. At the moment, the Alvinegro occupies the tenth position with 42 points, five behind Fluminense, the first team within the G7, which grants a spot in the 2026 Conmebol Libertadores.

The Corinthians squad started the training day focusing on the match against Massa Bruta with a strength workout in the gym, followed by a warm-up on one of the CT fields. Subsequently, coach Dorival Júnior conducted a tactical exercise of ten against ten.

Finally, those who played for more than 90 minutes against Grêmio on Sunday (2nd) returned to the indoor area for regenerative activities. The rest of the group, in turn, stayed on the field for a tactical complement, as well as a finishing complement.

In an interview with Corinthians TV, midfielder Maycon was asked about his expectations for the match against RB Bragantino and praised the opponent's style of play. In the first round, Alvinegro was defeated by Massa Bruta 2-1 at Neo Química Arena, in the 13th round of the national tournament.

“It's an important moment for the team. We are on a very good streak. We have been seeking this for a long time and have achieved it now. We must take advantage of this moment of confidence to string together the longest winning streak possible. We have a great opportunity to once again have an important victory to make that leap in the standings and show, especially to ourselves, that we have the ability to fight at the top and bring joy to the fans,” he began.

The club from Parque São Jorge is coming off three consecutive victories this season and consequently in the Brazilian Championship: Atlético-MG (1-0), Vitória (1-0), and Grêmio (2-0). “Red Bull has always been very difficult to face. I think their style of play is very interesting, we know the strengths they have, but we also know our team's capability, we know we can win there as we have already done this year. And I think even the game we lost (in the first round) we played very well with many chances, so we have the ability to go there and win, which will be very important for our sequence,” he concluded.
