Corinthians must cut seven players from their Copa das Campeãs squad as they finalise entry for FIFA’s inaugural women’s club World Cup. They face Gotham FC in the semi-final at the GTech Community Stadium, London, on 28 January at 9:30 Brasília time.
The squad completed the first phase of preparations and will travel to England next week. According to Meu Timao, seven of the 33 available players will remain in Brazil due to the 26-player cap, while centre-back Thaís Regina was injured on Thursday and is unavailable to Lucas Piccinato.
Those omitted will continue training at the club and could be called up if a replacement is needed in London.
Provisional lists required 24-35 names with at least four goalkeepers. Final lists must include 23-26 players, with at least three goalkeepers, drawn only from the provisional, and any replacements must also come from it.
After submission, changes are allowed only for serious injury or illness up to 24 hours before the first match, 9:30 on 27 January for Corinthians, subject to FIFA Medical Committee approval. Goalkeepers can be replaced at any time under the same conditions.
Staff lists could reach 75 names provisionally, with 12 on the final list, and regulations mandate female representation across medical and coaching roles and among officials on the bench. FIFA will cover accommodation and meals for 26 players and 12 staff, while clubs pay insurance, any personnel beyond 38, and extras.
