Corinthians overtake Flamengo to go second in Copa do Brasil last-16 list

Corinthians have climbed to second on the all-time Copa do Brasil last-16 list after sealing progression with a 1-0 win over Barra-SC at Neo Química Arena on Thursday.

According to Meu Timao, this marks their 29th qualification for the last 16 since 1989, with 31 entries in that span and only two early exits.

Atlético-MG lead with 32 from 37. Corinthians now sit ahead of Flamengo on 28, having overtaken the Rio club this week after their elimination by Vitória.

Since 2020, Corinthians have recorded 24 wins in the competition, placing them second among this decade’s most successful sides and moving past Atlético-MG.

The last-16 draw will be held on 26 May. Before that, Fernando Diniz’s team visit Botafogo at Estádio Nilton Santos on Sunday at 16:00 in the 16th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
