Corinthians striker on nearly three-month goal drought

The forward Pedro Raul returned to Corinthians at the beginning of the 2026 season after spending most of 2025 on loan to Ceará, where he was a regular starter, scoring 17 goals for the Ceará club. The numbers he produced at Vozão have not been repeated at Timão at the start of this year, and the center forward is already experiencing an uncomfortable drought of nearly three months without scoring goals.

The last time the number 18 in black and white scored a goal was on December 7, 2025, in the final round of the 2025 Brazilian Championship, where he found the net in the defeat that sealed Ceará's relegation with a 3-1 loss to Palmeiras. Since then, Pedro Raul has played in 10 matches wearing the Corinthians jersey, totaling 245 minutes on the field, averaging 24 minutes per match.

During the start of the season, the coach Dorival Jr himself mentioned, after the match against Athletico Paranaense, the need to give more opportunities to the forward with playing time and performance alongside the players considered starters within the black and white squad. For the attack, the coach already has Vitinho, Gui Negão, Kayke, and Memphis Depay, in addition to players in physical transition Yuri Alberto and Kaio César.

Besides the names already listed above, Dorival Jr can also count on Zakaria Labyad and Jesse Lingard, who, despite being originally midfielders, have also played on the wings and centrally as second strikers at various points in their respective careers.
