Corinthians striker on Paulistão Feminino draw with Palmeiras

On the evening of this Monday (10th), Corinthians visited Palmeiras at the Arena Barueri in a classic match valid for the 12th round of the first phase of the Women's Paulista Championship and ended up drawing with no goals. The result kept the team at the top of the state championship with 31 points (10 wins, one draw, and one loss – 29 goals scored and six conceded).

The Brabas have not yet secured the leadership of the competition, which would guarantee home advantage in the second game of a potential semifinal/final. In an exclusive interview with SporTV as she left the field, forward Ariel Godoi analyzed the classic, lamenting the missed chances by the team, especially in the final stage.

“We knew it would be a tough game. Because Palmeiras is right behind us, we had some opportunities to finish (the game), but we couldn't define well. Palmeiras also had chances, but thank God we didn't concede. And that's it, in a classic, it's at least, whoever makes fewer mistakes, wins. But I believe we will train to correct what we are getting wrong”, she said.

Since joining Corinthians in January, after a few seasons at São Paulo, Ariel Godoi has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 36 games (15 as a starter) – 26 wins, six draws, and only four losses – almost 78% success rate. In total, two titles were won: the Brazilian Championship and the Libertadores, both in 2025.

After facing Palmeiras away from home in the Women's Paulista Championship, the Alvinegro remains focused on the state competition. Next Thursday (13th), at 6:00 PM (Brasília time), the Brabas will face Ferroviária at Fonte Luminosa, for the 13th and penultimate round of the tournament.
