Gaviões da Fiel, Corinthians’ leading organised supporters’ group, has posted a countdown to a 25 May vote on expelling former president Andrés Sanchez.

According to Meu Timao, the club’s Deliberative Council will convene that day to decide his fate. Sanchez is under investigation over alleged improper use of the club’s corporate card, with personal spending exceeding R$ 480,000 between 2018 and 2021.

Early last month the Corinthians Ethics Committee unanimously approved the removal process and referred the case to the Deliberative Council. The Gaviões post highlighted Sanchez’s trajectory, demanded his expulsion, and urged fans to attend at Parque São Jorge.

The session will have three stages. The Ethics Committee will read and defend its opinion, the former president’s defence can respond, then councillors will decide between expulsion, alternative sanctions such as removal or suspension, or acquittal.

Sanchez is also under scrutiny from the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office. In October 2025, prosecutors accused him and former Corinthians finance manager Roberto Gavioli of embezzlement and money laundering, and additionally accused Sanchez of falsifying a tax document.
