Dani Olmo says Lamine Yamal’s recovery is going well | OneFootball

Spain’s camp is progressing to plan at Las Rozas, with several players on individual programmes and optimism that the full squad will be available across the first two group games at a World Cup starting on 11 June in the United States, Mexico and Canada, according to El Periódico Mediterráneo.

On Tuesday, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres and Pedro Porro took media duties at sponsor events. Olmo said Lamine Yamal looks in good shape and that his readaptation is advancing well, adding the group are pleased with his progress.

Olmo will wear No 10, a shirt he links with happy memories, noting Spain won the Euros when he had it. Asked about a long season and an expanded World Cup, he dismissed calendar excuses, saying there is time to prepare physically and mentally and that the squad are all at 100 percent.

Ferran Torres acknowledged the weight of a nation’s hopes but said the team embrace that pressure, want to take risks and make people happy. He recalled watching the 2010 tournament with Valencia team-mates at a friend’s restaurant, stressing the value of being around good people who share the same passion.

Pedro Porro spoke of excitement at being here before a World Cup and called the pressure a positive one with the country behind them, adding they will try to deliver joy. He said he used to watch past tournaments with friends he played football with in the street and with family for Spain games.

Yeremi Pino, fresh from winning the Conference League with Crystal Palace against Rayo Vallecano, said it had been a complicated year but his club’s finish was very good. He thanked Luis de la Fuente for his faith, adding he feels important and wants to contribute whether he plays or not.
