Daniel Farke says Lukas Nmecha has not returned to team training and will miss Leeds United’s Premier League visit to Brentford on Sunday.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the striker sustained a hamstring issue against Chelsea on Wednesday, then missed the 3-3 draw with Liverpool. Farke had hoped he might be back this weekend, but a re-scan showed the problem has not fully healed.
The manager said the first step is a return to team training. He hopes Nmecha could be available for the Crystal Palace game, but stressed it is a day-to-day call. The forward is working individually with rehab staff, so there is no chance of involvement this weekend.
Sean Longstaff remains out with a calf injury and is three weeks into an initial four to six week recovery. Dan James is likely sidelined until mid-January with a hamstring tendon problem. Farke noted the absences are an opportunity for others and that, aside from some knocks, the rest of the squad should be available.
Brentford will be without Kevin Schade, suspended after his fifth booking at Tottenham last weekend. Fabio Carvalho, Antoni Milambo and Josh Dasilva are still out.
