Darmstadt's Riedel set for La Liga move - Sky Germany

Clemens Riedel's transfer from SV Darmstadt to Espanyol Barcelona is only awaiting official confirmation from both clubs.

Espanyol have reached full agreement with 2.Bundesliga side after the prior verbal agreement with the centre-back.

The total transfer fee is expected to cost around €2million plus add-ons, along with a 10% sell-on clause.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg notes that the deal was well negotiated by Darmstadt's sporting director Paul Fernie.

The player flew to Spain on Sunday afternoon, and will undergo his medical later today, Monday 25 August.

Since breaking through from the Darmstadt youth academy in 2021, Riedel made a total of 84 appearances in all competitions.
