David Raya had to work hard and make a couple of great saves to maintain a clean sheet in Arsenal’s win over Everton on Saturday, and he also relied on a fantastic improvised block by Riccardo Calafiori to keep the away side off the scoresheet.
But the 2-0 result meant that Raya is now up to 15 clean sheets for the Premier League season, and 20 in all competitions.
No other goalkeeper in Europe’s top-five leagues has managed 15 league clean sheets this campaign, and Raya is way ahead of his Premier League competitors at this stage.

Raya’s closest rival is Gianluigi Donnarumma of Manchester City, who failed to keep a clean sheet against West Ham United on Saturday and remains on 11 clean sheets.
Jordan Pickford and Dean Henderson are then tied on 10, with Pickford conceding to Arsenal on Saturday and Henderson in action with Crystal Palace against Leeds United on Sunday.
There’s still a way to go until the award is mathematically confirmed, but a lead of four clean sheets is a big one with just eight games remaining for Donnarumma (or Henderson, if he keeps a clean sheet on Sunday) to catch up.

Raya won the award in 2024/25 with just 13 clean sheets, ending up tied for first place with Matz Sels of Nottingham Forest. Raya also won in 2023/24 with 16 clean sheets, ahead of Jordan Pickford on 13.
So just one more clean sheet in Arsenal’s final seven matches would bring Raya level with his previous best total of 16 at the club, and he could set a new record with a 17th.
Unfortunately, the Premier League record for the most clean sheets in a season is already out of reach, with Petr Cech keeping 24 clean sheets in 2004/05. But if Raya wins his third straight award and Arsenal win the league, he probably won’t mind too much about that.
