Mateja Stjepanović settled the game in the 57th minute with a right-footed strike from outside the box, as Moreirense beat Rio Ave 2-1.
Before the interval, Stjepanović read play cleanly, jumping passing lanes and helping the visitors absorb pressure with three interceptions and two clearances. His positioning in front of the back line cut out early service into the box.
After the restart he stepped higher and found space 20 metres out, rifling into the top left (57.) after Diogo Travassos laid the ball into his path. The shot's speed and angle left the goalkeeper static.
He finished with four clearances, three interceptions, two tackles won and six recoveries from 51 touches, underlining a two-way display that combined control without the ball and a decisive attacking moment.
With this display, Moreirense rise from ninth to sixth in Liga Portugal. They host Sporting CP next, while Rio Ave visit Porto.
