Stjepanović rocket lifts Moreirense into sixth | OneFootball

Moreirense beat Rio Ave 2-1 at the Estádio do Rio Ave Futebol Clube to climb from ninth to sixth in Liga Portugal.

Rodri Alonso opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a right-footed strike into the top right after Kiko Bondoso's pass. Jalen Blesa levelled from outside the box (42.), finishing low after Andreas Ntoi found him between the lines.

After the restart, Mateja Stjepanović rifled into the top left (57.), teed up by Diogo Travassos, to restore the visitors' lead.

André Ferreira made five saves as the visitors protected their advantage. Rio Ave produced 18 attempts and held 60.1% possession but could not find a late equaliser. The visitors made 47 clearances under pressure.

In the fourth minute of second half stoppage time, the visitors struck the right post on the break.
