While Gian Piero Gasperini prepares the team for the many matches of the coming weeks, Frederic Massara is already focused on the transfer market at Trigoria.
There’s no shortage of offers, and the latest name to reach the sporting director’s desk is Memphis Depay. Depay, born in 1994, currently plays for Corinthians, a club that may be forced to sell some of its key players for financial reasons.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Brazilian club has offered the former Barcelona player to Roma, among others.
This season, he has made 46 appearances, scoring 10 goals and assisting 10 times, but is currently sidelined due to knee inflammation.
As previously mentioned, Depay has been offered to Roma, but Roma hasn’t shown any particular enthusiasm.
Massara’s position remains rather cautious, more due to his age than his résumé.
In Europe, the Dutchman has represented PSV, Lyon, Manchester United, Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid, and has been a member of the national team since 2013.
Therefore, there are currently no negotiations between Roma and Corinthians. Or at least not for Depay. Because the Brazilian club has a striker the Giallorossi like: Yuri Alberto, born in 2001, who was already monitored in the summer but with no concrete developments. His profile has returned to the forefront and he’s back on the list of names being evaluated for the January transfer window.
