Manchester City will face off against Liverpool at Anfield this Sunday as they look to secure a win on the road in the Premier League. The Mancunian giants managed to earn an impressive 3-1 victory over Newcastle United recently, which should keep them in good spirits going into this game.

Pep Guardiola will set his players up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his starting XI for this clash. Ruben Dias, Marc Guehi and Rodri could all play from the start of this game versus the Reds.

Defence

Gianluigi Donnarumma will feature in between the sticks for the Mancunian club after he was rested in midweek. Ruben Dias, who is a doubt for this game, will function alongside Marc Guehi at the heart of the Man City backline as they look to keep a solid shape when defending inside their half.

Matheus Nunes will try to prove his worth as the right-back, while Nico O’Reilly looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Nathan Ake will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Phil Foden, Rodri and Nico Gonzalez will make up Man City’s midfield. All three of them need to dictate the tempo of the game in the middle of the park if they want to create enough chances in the final third.

Bernardo Silva is expected to be named on the bench if he can recover in time for this game.

Attack

Antoine Semenyo will get the nod to impress as the left-winger, while Rayan Cherki looks to prove his worth on the right flank if he can pass a late fitness test.

Erling Haaland will spearhead Guardiola’s attack. He has to find a way to threaten the Liverpool goal this weekend.

Tijjani Reijnders and Omar Marmoush will have to be content with a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the latter stages if Man City are in need of a goal by then. However, Jeremy Doku will be sidelined for this game.
