Dodi ends 2025 as Grêmio’s most-used player | OneFootball

A low-profile signing in 2023, Dodi finished 2025 as Grêmio’s leading appearance-maker.

According to Globo.com, the midfielder played in 51 of 63 matches, one more than Edenilson, who has renewed until 2026. Goalkeeper Tiago Volpi made 49.

In 2024 he ranked second with 57 outings, behind Cristaldo on 59. Dodi said he felt honoured, highlighting daily work to stay fit and help the team, and that the milestone made him very happy.

Grêmio dealt with major injuries in the second half of the year, including an anterior cruciate ligament rupture for Villasanti, an ankle fracture for Balbuena and a ruptured Achilles for Braithwaite. Arthur, Marcos Rocha and Willian arrived mid-season.

Dodi reflected that the team closed the Brasileiro in positive fashion, collecting vital points to finish in the top half and clinch a place in the Sul-Americana. He praised the group’s strength and unity.

Despite competition in midfield, he became a trusted option, overtaking Cuéllar in the run-in to form a pairing with Arthur, having earlier played alongside Villasanti.

For 2026, Grêmio are expected to make few changes in midfield. The priority is to secure Arthur on a permanent basis, with his Juventus loan running to June and the option to extend to December.
