Durham loanee Pritchard recalled by Manchester City | OneFootball

Durham’s loanee forward Poppy Pritchard has been recalled by parent club Manchester City.

The Wildcats announced the news via a post on their official club X account this evening.

The 20-year-old England youth international was set to spend the whole season at Maiden Castle, however, she has been recalled by her parent club ahead of schedule.

Pritchard initially came through the youth system at Durham before quickly making her mark on the first team. The youngster’s good performances did not go unnoticed and she joined Manchester City on a three-and-a-half-year deal in January 2024. The forward is yet to appear for The Cityzens in the Barclays Women’s Super League and she has furthered her development on loan at Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Durham in the last 18 months.

In her second spell at Durham, Pritchard made 11 appearances for the club in Barclays WSL2. She failed to add to her goal tally but she did provide three assists in the first half of the season.

The next step in Pritchard’s development is not yet known. She could be assessed by Manchester City before being sent out on a further loan to continue to build her experience.

Pritchard leaves Durham with the club currently sitting in 10th position in the Barclays WSL2 table.
