Daniel Farke received his first red card as Leeds United manager after full-time for confronting referee Peter Bankes over timekeeping at Elland Road. Assistant Eddie Riemer fronted the post-match media.

Manchester City won 1-0, Antoine Semenyo striking just before half-time. According to Leedsunited.news, Riemer argued there should have been extra seconds beyond six minutes of stoppage time after City were cautioned for time-wasting.

He said Farke’s reaction was emotional as Leeds chased an equaliser, and felt a yellow would have been more appropriate than a dismissal. Leeds were also angered by decisions, citing a denied handball penalty and an unpunished stamp by Rayan Cherki on Ilia Gruev.

The hosts executed their game plan and missed two golden chances, particularly in the first half. On another day they felt the scoreline could have been very different, but City did enough.

Farke’s impending touchline absence could have significant implications and his suspension might disrupt Leeds’ rhythm. With Sunderland up next, he will watch from the stands and is unlikely to be the only key figure missing. Riemer said the extent of Rodon’s injury is still unknown.

Leeds must regroup quickly with the Premier League season entering a crucial phase. They remain six points above West Ham after West Ham’s defeat to Liverpool.
