Midfielder continues strong return after injury

Emam Ashour’s influence growing again at Al Ahly
Emam Ashour scored and assisted in Al Ahly’s 3-1 win over Al Mokawloon showing strong form after returning from injury.
Midfielder Emam Ashour played a key role in Al Ahly’s 3-1 victory over Al Mokawloon Al Arab in round 21 of Egyptian Premier League.
Ashour continued his strong return after injury by scoring one goal and providing one assist helping the Cairo giants secure important win in their title race.
His performance ensured that Al Ahly stayed firmly in the competition for the league crown.
This was the second time Ashour has scored and assisted in the same match with Al Ahly. The midfielder previously achieved the same feat during the 2024 /25 season in a league game against Ismaily in round 14.
His growing influence in attack has become clear during recent matches as he continues to create chances and contribute directly to goals for the team.
Ashour’s powerful strike against Al Mokawloon has also earned him nomination for the best goal of round 21 in Egyptian league.
He joins a shortlist that includes Nasser Mansi of Zamalek, Salah Mohsen of Al Masry and Pape Badji of Smouha.
The goal came from a strong shot that beat goalkeeper Mahmoud Abou El Saoud highlighting Ashour’s ability to strike from distance.
Al Ahly will now turn their focus to their next league challenge against Talaea El Gaish. The match is scheduled for Monday and is postponed fixture from round 15 of Egyptian Premier League.
