Corinthians chase the inaugural FIFA Copa das Campeãs title on Sunday, facing Arsenal in London at 15:00 Brasília time. As reported by Meu Timao, the showpiece is staged at Emirates Stadium. Lucas Piccinato’s side reached the final after beating Gotham FC 1-0.
The arena is Arsenal’s home. In mid-2025 the club said their women would host all league matches there, plus Women’s Champions League knockout ties. It also hosts the men, who lead the Premier League and reached the Champions League last 16 as league-phase winners.
Set in Holloway, north London, Emirates has straightforward public transport links. Arsenal station on the Piccadilly line is a three to five minute walk. The stadium opened on 22 July 2006 and holds 60,704.
Before the move, Arsenal played at Highbury, vacated on 7 May 2006 after 93 years. Corinthians appeared there in a 1965 friendly, which the hosts won 2-0.
Today it is among Britain’s most modern venues, with Arsenalisation murals of 32 greats and bronze statues of Arsène Wenger, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Tony Adams, Herbert Chapman and Ken Friar. Visitors can take a self-guided tour, see the Arsenal Museum and shop at The Armoury.
Brazil’s men have made Emirates their European base, playing nine games for eight wins and one defeat. Highlights include 3-0 against Argentina in September 2006, a 2-0 loss to Portugal in February 2007 and a 2-0 win over Senegal on 15 November 2025.
Matchdays favour public transport, with cars discouraged due to traffic and road closures. Highbury & Islington serves the south side and Holloway Road has entry and exit restrictions. London buses are cashless, accepting Oyster or contactless with a flat £1.75 fare.
