Enzo Maresca has confirmed Tosin Adarabioyo will miss Saturday’s game against Brighton and won’t return until after the international break.
The Blues welcome the Seagulls to Stamford Bridge as they look to return to winning ways having taken just one point from their two matches.
Brighton have won just one of their opening five games, but will pose a tough test for Maresca’s men, who are set to be without several key players.
Maresca confirmed the news most expected that Cole Palmer will be out until after the international break, but supporters were shocked to hear of more injury issues.
Chelsea are short of quality options at centre back following the injury to Levi Colwill, and despite Maresca’s public pleas another defender wasn’t signed.

Tosin missed the game against Lincoln, but many expected him to return at the weekend, however, Maresca has confirmed he’s set for a spell on the sidelines.
“We have a Tosin injury that probably will be out until the international break,” he told his pre-match press conference.
“He has a small problem in his calf.”
It’s a blow for Chelsea given Tosin is a leader at the back, and has featured in four of Chelsea’s opening five Premier League games.
It’s not just Tosin who will miss the next three games, it’s also confirmed that Wesley Fofana will be out until after the international break.

It was revealed Fofana suffered a concussion against Lincoln, and as per concussion protocols he must miss the next 12 days.
This means the Frenchman will miss games against Brighton, Benfica and Liverpool, and leave Chelsea with just two fit centre backs in Treveoh Chalobah and Josh Acheampong.
