According to The Athletic, Estevao could miss the World Cup after sustaining a serious hamstring injury for Chelsea.

The 18-year-old was hurt during Chelsea’s 0-1 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday. He is said to have a grade 4 lesion, leaving his participation in the tournament, which begins on 11 June, in severe doubt.

Estevao has enjoyed a promising first season in England, making 36 appearances with 8 goals and 4 assists in all competitions after joining from Palmeiras last summer.

He has also been hampered by injuries, including a previous hamstring issue that kept him out of Brazil’s most recent camp, when Brazil lost 1-2 to France.

His potential absence would be a blow for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad and could reshape their attack. Neymar, whose own participation appears heavily compromised, and teenager Endrick, who impressed on his last call-up, could benefit.
