Everton’s stance on a permanent buy option for Jack Grealish from Manchester City after his current season-long loan at the Hill Dickinson Stadium has been revealed in a new report.

Grealish has made a blistering start to life in Merseyside since joining forces with David Moyes in Merseyside, with the 30-year-old voted the Premier League Player of the Month for August in his first month away from the Etihad Stadium.

Having made just seven Premier League over the course of the 2024-25 campaign, Grealish was told by England manager Thomas Tuchel that he needed to play regularly at club level to stake a claim in the Three Lions squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Despite interest from clubs abroad, Grealish wanted to stay in England and his start to life at Everton could not have gone much better, with the three-time Premier League winner providing four assists in his first two starts for the Toffees.

When pondering upon his club future in the summer – amidst a sliding doors moment for Manchester City in the market – Grealish is understood to have come to an acceptance that his career at the Etihad Stadium is over for good.

After starring for the Sky Blues in their historic 2022-23 treble season, the Birmingham-born attacker never kicked on as personal and mental issues hurdled him from playing regularly or to the best of his ability in the 2023-24 season.

Grealish struggled to keep himself fit and produce when called upon by Guardiola last term, with the Manchester City manager preferring young Savinho and Jeremy Doku on the wings over his £100 million record signing.

However, Grealish is widely expected to leave Manchester City next summer and Everton’s stance on a £50 million buy option for the forward has been revealed in a new report by Dominic King of Mail Sport.

The report details that Everton are very keen on securing Grealish’s services on a permanent basis next summer, though the Toffees will look to negotiate with Manchester City over a fee for the loanee.

Everton are reported to hold a belief that the £50 million figure to buy Grealish permanently next summer is not set in stone, with the Merseyside outfit set to test Manchester City’s resolve to get Grealish off their books for good with a low-ball offer in 2026.

Grealish has made a blistering start to life at Everton and is enjoying the freedom given to him by Moyes, with a firm eye on breaking back into the England squad – with Tuchel sure to have kept an eye on developments at the Hill Dickinson Stadium since Grealish’s notable arrival.

After two sub-par seasons in Manchester, Grealish needed to change clubs this summer and early indications argue that he could not have made a better decision, with Everton fans already in love with their marquee attacking addition after his impressive performances early into a season-long loan.
