Ex-EFL striker Cameron Jerome is set for a return to football at the age of 39.
Former EFL striker Cameron Jerome is set for a return to football at the age of 39.
After a distinguished career across English football, Jerome retired in 2024 with a total of 141 career goals.

The Huddersfield-born striker proved one of the Championship's best goalscorers across spells with Cardiff, Birmingham, Norwich, Derby and more, and played his last match at Wembley - with Bolton Wanderers losing out to Oxford United in the 2023/24 play-off final.
At the age of 39, the veteran striker is set to return to football at the non-league level.
Earlier this week, Newsome Football Club announced the former EFL bagsman as a new signing, with the club currently sitting at the bottom of the Yorkshire Amateur League Premier Division - the 12th tier of the English pyramid.
The club is based in Jerome's hometown of Huddersfield and was founded in 1999, making it a hometown reunion for the former England Under 21 international.

The club's statement on X read: "Power, pace and huge experience. An absolute prodigious addition to the squad. Welcome home, Cameron."
In his final year as a professional, Jerome scored four times for Bolton as they pushed for a Championship return, before his official retirement was announced at the end of the calendar year.
He has since been working on a mentoring business for strikers - helping to develop their understanding of the role.
After scoring 24 times across 73 appearances for Cardiff City between 2004 and 2006, Jerome would make the switch to Birmingham City, the club in which he would spend the longest period of his career.
The Blues would achieve promotion to the Premier League twice during Jerome's time in the West Midlands, in 2007 and 2010.
The striker would find the back of the net 37 times for Birmingham before he made the move to Premier League side Stoke City following the Blues' relegation in 2011.
After operating in a back-up role to Peter Crouch for large parts of his Stoke career, Jerome would become a key part of the Norwich City side promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs in 2015 - his third ascent to the top flight.
A versatile centre-forward, Jerome arrived at any club with more than just goals, with his back-to-goal play and ability to link seamlessly with others around him a key aspect of his game.
He would join Derby in January 2018, providing experience up top as the Rams surged to the play-offs under Gary Rowett.

After a spell in Turkey with Göztepe, the veteran would spend his latter days with MK Dons, Luton Town and Bolton, before his EFL career came to an end in 2024.
