Fans thrilled: Bayern has landed in South Korea | OneFootball

FC Bayern’s Asian tour has now begun. The German record champions will be on the South Korean island of Jeju until August 5, after which they will continue on to Hong Kong.

Several stars, such as Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Ismael Saibari, are still missing from this preseason tour, but national team players who recently returned to training—such as Joshua Kimmich and Jonathan Tah—are part of the squad.

The roster is rounded out by several talented players from Bayern’s youth academy. Tim Binder, Maycon Douglas Cardozo, Guido Della Rovere, Vincent Manuba, Filip Pavic, Bastian Assomo, and goalkeeper Daiv Podar-Stiube are all looking forward to gaining experience among the pros.

Bayern Welcomed by Numerous Fans

Bayern will also be seeking to connect with fans in Asia during this trip. Immediately upon arrival, the players and officials of the record-holding champions were enthusiastically welcomed by numerous fans.

As part of the tour, the record champions will face Jeju SK on August 4, followed by a match against Aston Villa in Hong Kong three days later.

The match against the Premier League club, in particular, will serve as a good test during preseason and provide an opportunity to assess the team’s current form. Even without many of its top players, Bayern aims to put its best foot forward on this Asian tour and put on a great show for the local fans.

Training sessions will, of course, also be held here. After all, the first competitive match of the new season is already on the schedule in just under three weeks. They’ll kick things off in the Super Cup with an away match against Borussia Dortmund. Just six days later, VfB Stuttgart awaits in the Bundesliga.

So time is tight—especially since many players won’t join the team until after the Asian tour. But for now, the focus is squarely on this tour—and not just for marketing purposes.
