FC Barcelona: a clear update on Lewandowski's future
FC Barcelona: major revelation about Lewandowski's future
The future of Robert Lewandowski is raising plenty of questions in Barcelona. As the Polish striker enters the final year of his contract, his role in the Catalan project seems less pivotal than when he first arrived. Having been less influential since the start of the season, he could see his importance diminish even further under Hansi Flick, reigniting debates about his future.
In an interview with 365Scores, his agent Pini Zahavi set the record straight on the situation:
"Lewandowski's contract with Barcelona expires in the summer of 2026 and no decision has been made yet. We have to wait and see what happens in the coming days."
He also wanted to clarify certain rumors about a move to Saudi Arabia:
"There is nothing official and no offers at the moment."
Now 37, Lewandowski knows this period could well be one of the final major turning points in his career. While he's still happy at Barça, his decisions will depend on his role in the medium-term sporting project. Asked in Poland, he responded to criticism about his age:
"To say I don't run anymore or don't put in the work is absurd. I'm well aware that at my age, playing less could actually benefit me over the course of the season."
