Fears grow regarding severity of Theate knee injury | OneFootball

Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed this afternoon, Wednesday 11 February, that Arthur Theate has been sidelined through injury.

During team training earlier this morning, it's understood that Theate withdrew after picking up an unfortunate knee injury.

According to BILD, there is great concern within the club that the 25-year-old has suffered a serious blow and faces a lengthy spell out. 

Meanwhile, examinations with the club's medical team are underway to understand the severity of the Belgian's case. 

One thing seems clear – the versatile defender will not be an option for the Hessens against Borussia Mönchengladbach this Saturday.

Theate was utilised as part of a back-four in Albert Riera's first game as Frankfurt coach, which ended in a 1-1 draw at 1.FC Union Berlin.

The news comes at a particularly bad time after recent spate of injuries, to key individuals like Younes Ebnoutalib and Can Uzun.
