Felippe Cardoso has been unveiled as Zhejiang FC’s latest signing, returning to China after a spell with Al-Najma in Saudi Arabia. The move was announced on Sunday.
According to Diario Do Peixe, he joined Santos in September 2018 on coach Cuca’s recommendation, costing R$ three million for 60% of his economic rights.
On the pitch he fell short, playing only 11 times and scoring one goal, and was later separated from the first team after refusing to play a Campeonato Brasileiro de Aspirantes fixture.
With opportunities limited at Santos, he was loaned to Ceará, Fluminense and Vegalta Sendai in Japan before his deal expired in January 2023. He then represented Casa Pia in Portugal, Akhmat Grozny in Russia, HN FC in China, and Al-Najma in Saudi Arabia.
Cardoso expressed gratitude to those who backed him, said wearing the shirt means a great deal to him and his family, and called returning to China a personal goal after happy times there. He is highly motivated to work, improve and repay the club’s trust with dedication, professionalism and effort.
