Dodo is putting together another respectable season despite Fiorentina’s troubles, but his future is in jeopardy, as his contract runs out in 2027. The parties have been in talks to extend it, but haven’t been able to do so at this point, Tuttomercatoweb reports.
If the accord isn’t struck in the next couple of months, the fullback will be put on the market. The Viola would look to get some cash rather than risk losing him for nothing.
Fiorentina have offered roughly €2M per year to Dodo, who’s weighing his options. Milan and Inter lodged exploratory contacts in previous months. He has a few suitors abroad as well. The Rossoneri have been testing the waters for a new right wing-back, although Zachary Athekame has been improving, and Alexis Saelemaekers has been solid all year long.
Their cousins face more uncertainty in the role. Denzel Dumfries’ €25M release clause will return into effect in July. Luis Henrique, who has some rich fans in England, could be sold following an underwhelming campaign.
Juventus touched base as well and are monitoring some free agent options in the role. However, the Gigliati star often stated that he would never move to Turin due to the bond with his current team and the rivalry. Fiorentina would value him at around €15M in the summer if they didn’t come to terms. He has notched 3 goals and 13 assists in 153 appearances since moving to Italy.
They are well into overtime in the negotiation, and the outcome of their season will inevitably play a role. If he’s on the move, he’ll be a moderately intriguing and relatively cheap option for teams looking for an offensive-minded contributor in the role.
