According to Football Italia, both Fiorentina and Como suffered fresh injury setbacks in their Coppa Italia tie, with Tasos Douvikas and later Roberto Piccoli forced off.

The Round of 16 match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi will decide who faces Napoli in the quarter-final next month.

Both coaches rotated their squads for this midweek fixture, prioritising Serie A, but early injuries compelled changes.

Douvikas limped off before half-time after landing awkwardly and appearing to turn his right ankle. He hobbled out and was replaced by Nico Paz, with Alvaro Morata and Jayden Addai also returning from injuries and not fit to play an hour.

Piccoli was next to depart in the second half, having scored the opening goal. The Fiorentina striker pulled up holding the top of his left thigh, indicating a possible adductor issue, and immediately called to be replaced.

The setback could be especially concerning, as Moise Kean is already out, while Edin Dzeko was sold to Schalke 04 in the January window.
