Fiorentina ‘favourites’ for Mastantuono loan agreement with Real Madrid | OneFootball

There are growing reports in Argentina, Spain and Italy that Fiorentina are the favourites to get Real Madrid starlet Franco Mastantuono on loan.

The talent will turn 19 next month and was snapped up from River Plate last summer for €45m plus add-ons.

He has struggled for regular playing time in Madrid, so the plan is to let him go out on loan this term in order to gain experience of European football.

Other destinations have been mentioned, including Fulham in the Premier League, Villarreal, Real Socidead and Sevilla in Spain, Sporting CP in Portugal, Juventus, or even a return to River Plate.

Fiorentina first choice for Mastantuono

According to TyC Sports and Diario AS, Fiorentina would be the favourites to secure Mastantuono on a dry loan, meaning there is no option to make it permanent.

There is a perfect opportunity to discuss the matter when Fiorentina and Real Madrid meet in a friendly match in Austria on August 1.

This may well also be inspired by the impressive growth of fellow Argentina international Nico Paz at Como, although that has turned into a form of co-ownership deal.

Mastantuono has Italian heritage, so would not be taking up a non-EU player slot in the Fiorentina squad.

The teenager made 35 appearances for Real Madrid, but only started 17, scoring three goals and getting a red card against Getafe.
