FC Bayern are pressing ahead with their transfer plans for the summer – and one name is at the top of the list: Anthony Gordon. Transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio has also confirmed the Munich club’s interest and provided exciting insights into the current situation
„FC Bayern are very interested in Anthony Gordon. Yes, that’s confirmed,“ Di Marzio explained in an interview with the portal Wettfreunde. According to this, those responsible at Säbener Straße see the England international as the ideal reinforcement for the left flank – especially as a complement and relief for Luis Díaz
Other German and English media had previously reported on the German record champions‘ interest. According to information from Sky, Bayern are already in contact with the player’s side. There have been no talks between the two clubs so far
Particularly explosive: according to Di Marzio, Bayern are ready to get serious. An offer of around 60 million euros is on the table, which would send a clear signal as to how important Gordon is for future squad planning
The idea behind it is clear: Díaz and Gordon should act as equal options on the left flank in future and give Vincent Kompany’s team more variability and depth

But a transfer will be anything but easy. Newcastle United have no interest in giving up their top performer. „It’s not in their tradition to sell players like Gordon,“ Di Marzio emphasizes
Instead, the Magpies could be forced to sell other stars – most notably Sandro Tonali. The Italian midfielder is on the radar of several top clubs, including Manchester United and Juventus. If Newcastle are indeed considering a sale, Tonali would currently be the more likely candidate
This makes it clear that Bayern’s chances depend largely on the internal decisions at Newcastle. Should the club generate sufficient income through other sales, a Gordon transfer could quickly be off the table
Conversely, if Bayern get serious and make a financial commitment, there could be movement on the matter. „If they want a player, they can make an offer. It depends on how much money is put on the table,“ said Di Marzio
Irrespective of the hurdles, the direction of travel at Säbener Straße is clear. Gordon is regarded as the absolute ideal solution for the attack – a player who combines pace, dynamism and finishing power and fits perfectly into Bayern’s profile.
