Flamengo took the trophy home in an all-Brazilian Copa Libertadores final clash with Palmeiras — a clash being billed as the 'Game of the Century'.
A towering Danilo header saw the Brazilian giants capture their fourth Libertadores title, and second since 2022.

Scorers: Danilo 67'
Physicality reigned supreme in the opening hour as the tackles flew in. Both sides were perhaps lucky to avoid seeing red in the first-half as the referee seemed to brush off some vicious challenges.
But it took until past the hour mark for the deadlock to be broken by Danilo, who leapt above the Palmeiras defence from a corner to send his header in off the post and spark wild scenes in the Flamengo end behind the goal.
Palmeiras put up an almighty fight to pull themselves level in the dying minutes, pinning Flamengo deep into their own half.
Yet Filipe Luís' side showed off a frankly heroic resolve to hang and capture the victory in front of a raucous crowd in Lima.
It could get even better for Flamengo this week back in Brazil as they could wrap up the Brasileiro title with a game to spare. Who will they narrowly eclipse for the domestic honour? Palmeiras.
