Flamengo enquire about Grêmio teenager Bernardo Zortéa | OneFootball

Grêmio have received an enquiry from Flamengo regarding 18-year-old midfielder Bernardo Zortéa, who featured and scored in the Copa São Paulo.

According to Globo.com, Flamengo asked Grêmio to outline terms to advance towards a potential offer, and the club have yet to respond. Grêmio say the approach came via intermediaries. Rádio Bandeirantes first reported the contact, which the report confirmed.

Zortéa is not currently in line for a promotion to the senior squad, although he trained with the first team last year and is regarded as a high-potential prospect. In the Copinha he played seven of Grêmio’s eight matches, starting five, and scored once.

His representative visited the CT Hélio Dourado in Eldorado do Sul this week to discuss the situation. Grêmio are still assessing their stance. Zortéa’s contract runs to the end of 2027, with an option for the club to extend to 2028.

Recently, Grêmio approached Flamengo for midfielder Evertton Araújo without success. Early last year, Grêmio also allowed defender Da Mata, who has Brazil under-17 call-ups, to join Flamengo with a purchase set at 1 million euros and a retained percentage for a future sale.
