Flamengo are also pursuing Kaiki Bruno from Cruzeiro, a move linked to their stance that Ayrton Lucas is negotiable in the next window.

Since Leonardo Jardim arrived, a centre forward remains the top recruitment priority. The club had initially planned to negotiate the Ecuadorian Gonzalo Plata, but his future at Flamengo is now uncertain.

With Ayrton Lucas starting, Flamengo host Coritiba at the Maracanã on Saturday 30 from 16:00 Brasília time, in round 18 of the Brasileirão.
