Flamengo face uncertainty over long-time shirt partner BRB after the bank cut sponsorship outlay for 2026 by 60%.
The bank said in a statement that it is conducting a technical and strategic review of all sponsorship contracts and is studying ways to reinforce and restructure its tie-up with the club’s Nação BRB FLA, including the option of creating an independent company. It added that any decisions on continuing, adjusting or ending deals will be communicated with transparency.
Public filings show BRB’s spend across sponsorships fell from R$ 118.6 million in 2025 to R$ 50 million this year, as published in the Diário Oficial do Governo do Distrito Federal. BRB changed leadership after the crisis surrounding Banco Master, following Banco Central’s decision in November last year to order that institution’s extrajudicial liquidation.
BRB have been on Flamengo’s shirt since 2020, initially as main sponsor, and since the first quarter of 2024 on the shoulder. Also in 2020, the club and BRB launched Banco Nação, a digital product with almost four million customers.
The current shirt agreement, worth R$ 25 million per year, runs until March and will not be affected by the cut. The Banco Nação partnership runs to 2029 and guarantees at least R$ 15 million a year. It is linked to the shirt deal, and if that is not renewed the minimum rises to R$ 25 million.
