Fluminense and Vasco supporters clashed near the Maracanã before the second leg of the Copa do Brasil semi-final, scheduled for 20:30 on Sunday.
According to Globo.com, the confrontation took place on the ramp linking the metro station to Gate D of the stadium.
The access route serves both fanbases, who separate only at the end, and punches were thrown by some fans as they left the metro. The Military Police then used non-lethal weapons to disperse the fight.
Several supporters sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene. There was no immediate response from PMERJ at the time of publication.
Earlier, the rival groups had already met in the Chatuba community in Mesquita, where a man was stabbed and taken to a UPA, an Emergency Care Unit.
Vasco won the first leg 2-1 last Thursday. The winner tonight will face Corinthians or Cruzeiro in the Copa do Brasil final.
