He was held after alleged disorder at the Baianeiros bloco parade in Bairro Castelo.

Police were called after several witnesses reported a mass brawl on Avenida Altamiro Avelino Soares. Other revellers identified Garcia as a principal instigator.

When approached, he allegedly refused to answer questions, showing signs of intoxication and erratic behaviour. He then became aggressive, shouting insults and assaulting some officers.

Officers warned him about the legal consequences. He allegedly ignored the warnings and continued the disturbance, so was restrained and handcuffed.
