Aston Villa have announced the appointment of Brian Sørensen as Technical Adviser of the women's team.
Sørensen was most recently in charge of Everton but was sacked in early February with the club then ninth in the WSL table (his final game coincidently was a 2-1 win at home to Villa).
Now the Dane will serve as 'additional technical support' to current head coach Natalia Arroyo, who has been under increased pressure following a run of five defeats in a row that included a 7-3 humbling at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
"Aston Villa have made significant investment into their women’s organisation during the past seasons and possess a formidable squad," Sørensen said on his appointment
"I appreciate the opportunity to join during this period and work with Marisa [Ewers, Director of Football] and Natalia, a Manager who I know well, to strengthen the technical foundation of the club.
"I’m excited to get started."
Villa are back in action this weekend in a tough fixture as they host league leaders Manchester City.
