The Frenchman spoke about the incident in a press conference after the match, as reported by FCInterNews. He insisted that “you all saw it.”

Inter striker Marcus Thuram felt that he should have had a penalty in yesterday’s Serie A derby against AC Milan.

This was after a challenge from Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic.

Thuram had managed to run clear of Pavlovic in a foot race through on goal. However, the former Red Bull Salzburg defender bundled him over in the box.

Then, in the meantime, Rossoneri defender Theo Hernandez managed to get back and cover. He knocked the ball clear with a sliding challenge.

Referee Daniele Chiffi did not see the incident as a foul by Pavlovic in real time. Nor did VAR advise the official to have a second look at the incident.

However, subsequent replays appeared to show a fairly blatant trip on Thuram.

After the match, Italian refereeing expert Luca Marelli argued that it was a “clear penalty.”

Meanwhile, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi raged after the match. He said that this is the “fourth or fifth” time Inter have received these kinds of decisions.

Asked if he still felt that it was a penalty, striker Marcus Thuram said that “I watched it back during the interviews.”

“And you all saw it too…” his message was clear.

As far as the difference between this season’s derbies and those of last campaign, Thuram said “Milan have evolved, signed players.”

“They’ve learned from defeat,” added the Frenchman.

Thuram made clear that “it’s always tough to play against Milan.”

And Thuram also said of the Serie A title race that “We’re Inter, we can’t give up.”

“It’s true that we’re not satisfied with this match. But the players who came on in the second half gave us a big hand.”

“We have a great desire to win the Scudetto.”
