Championship duo Norwich City and Portsmouth are not interested in signing Reading star midfielder Charlie Savage.

Reading have received good news regarding the future of star midfielder Charlie Savage ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.
The Royals are battling for a League One play-off spot, and have enjoyed some positive results since Leam Richardson took over from former boss Noel Hunt back in October.
Richardson has overseen a busy transfer window so far, completing the loan additions of Will Keane and Ryan Nyambe from Preston North End and Derby County, respectively, while Benn Ward and Haydon Roberts have joined on permanent deals from Accrington Stanley and Bristol City.
Reading have already enjoyed the services of their winter recruits, while forward Keane scored his first Royals goal in a 2-2 draw with Exeter City.

Savage has been a class act for Richardson's men once again this season, having impressed for the Berkshire club in both of the last two campaigns.
Meanwhile, the Reading Chronicle have revealed that Norwich City and Portsmouth are not interested in the 22-year-old, despite links between the Championship duo and the midfielder in the transfer window.
Following that news, Football League World asked our Royals fan pundit, Johnny Hunt, how much of a boost it is for the League One outfit.
Hunt said: "It's a great boost. Charlie Savage is part of the club, one of our best players. Still developing, will continue to get better. He's someone you want to keep hold of. If you want to get anywhere out of League One, he's a player you need.
"We're not a selling club, as the owners have made clear. It's a positive. We've lost so many players over the years that didn't go for the value they were worth, or had to go because they had to pay the tax bills.
"At last, regardless of what goes on on the pitch, we can actually look after ourselves off the pitch and make sure that, if we have to sell a player, we are going to get top value for them, not cut-price deals, and it has to be right for the club and the player.
"The fans will see this as a positive. Charlie has never said he wanted to leave Reading. He seems very happy playing for us, and he's a part of our future, so it's great news."

Richardson has effectively utilised the winter transfer window to put his own stamp on the Reading squad he inherited from former boss Hunt, which is, perhaps, best demonstrated by the fact that he has signed his former Wigan Athletic colleagues Keane and Nyambe.
The forward and the full-back are talented individuals who have won promotion from League One to the Championship before, which bodes well for the Royals.
Richardson's signings could have what it takes to help Reading land a play-off spot, especially amid the congested nature of this season's third-tier table.
Retaining the talented Savage, who has continued excelling in the middle of the park, can only be a positive as Reading eye a Championship return.
