From 34 Goals to Top 4: Salah's Ballon d'Or Achievement
Mohamed Salah's claimed his highest ever Ballon d’Or ranking finishing 4th in the 2025 edition after remarkable season with Liverpool.
The 33 year old delivered extraordinary campaign scoring 34 goal and providing 23 assist across all competitions helping the Reds secure their 20th league title under new manager Arne Slot.
His efforts also earned him the Premier League Player of the Year, PFA Player of the Year and FWA Player of the Year awards.
This was Salah’s 6th Ballon d’Or nomination and his best ranking surpassing his previous fifth place finishes in 2019 & 2022.
Despite his heroics, the Egyptian star didn't attend the ceremony in Paris.
The award was won by Ousmane Dembele who led Paris Saint Germain to Champions league glory edging Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal into second. PSG’s Vitinha completed the podium in 3rd place.
For Liverpool, Alexis Mac Allister (22nd), Virgil van Dijk (28th) and Florian Wirtz (29th) were also included in the final rankings.
The last Liverpool player to win the award remains Michael Owen in 2001 while Virgil van Dijk (2019) & Sadio Mane (2022) have both finished as runners up.
