In a major development, Real Madrid appear to be on the verge of finalising their first and only move for the upcoming January transfer window.

According to L’Equipe, the road is clear for Endrick to join Olympique Lyon on a short-term loan in January.

This is expected to be Real Madrid’s only deal in the winter transfer window, with the club unlikely to buy or sell any new players in January.

Full details of Endrick’s loan deal

The report from L’Equipe has offered key details of Endrick’s six-month loan deal with Olympique Lyon.

As per the terms of the deal, Real Madrid are set to earn €1 million as a loan fee from Lyon, but will have to cover 50% of his wages.

On the flip side, the agreement is contingent upon the fact that Endrick must play a certain number of matches, although the exact number has not been mentioned in the report.

Further, Real Madrid have not inserted any buy clause in the loan deal, meaning Endrick will return to Santiago Bernabeu after the end of his contract at Lyon.

The primary objective of this loan deal is to ensure regular game time for the Brazilian international, who has struggled to gain prominence under Xabi Alonso.

Endrick, for his part, is also looking to impress Carlo Ancelotti so that he can earn a place in the Brazilian team for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Endrick is set to join Lyon on January 1, meaning the player has already played his last game for Real Madrid this season.

His imminent move to Lyon also comes on the back of recent reports which had suggested that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur may also emerge as potential suitors for the Brazilian in January. But that is no longer a possibility.
